Senior 2D / 3D Concept Artist

This is not your traditional Concept Artist position. From mobile applications to AR/VR, Artificial Intelligence, home robots, and IoT products, we need you to work alongside our creative teams to visualize and conceptualize experiences that create real impact on various industries and products that are shipped to people around the globe. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and creative concept artist to join our award-winning design team in Vancouver, BC, within the Unity Solutions group.

Unity Solutions is a division within Unity that focuses on the creation of advanced software application development, expanding Unity’s ability to bring Real-Time 3D to experiences that extend beyond gaming. This specialized division targets a unique cross-section of business sectors that range from retail to heavy industries.

As a Concept Artist at Unity, you will have the opportunity to embody true ownership in your work. Collaborate with creative teams to convey user journeys through new, innovative experiences. In the past few years our work has been showcased at Google I/O, Microsoft Build and Apple’s WWDC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Creative and Design team to create consistently high-quality concept art
• Be flexible with various artistic styles that match client/project needs
• Communicate progress or issues with Creative to ensure all deadlines are met
• Consult with Director(s) and make revisions as needed to deliver final artwork
• Communicate ideas effectively and recommend solutions to produce strong visual concepts
• Assist with and complete production-related assignments
• Keep current on relevant techniques and technology

Requirements

• Capable in 2D and 3D, with an ability to blend the two as needed to produce great artwork
• Strong fundamentals in illustration with a demonstrable sense of composition, gesture, sketching, etc.
• Experience with 3D workflows, encompassing high and low poly modeling, optimization, texturing, and rendering
• Strong verbal/written communication skills (English)
• A fundamental focus on producing high quality work quickly and consistently

Bonus Points

• Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and providing deliverables within a tight deadline
• Worked in a project-based tech environment, directly interfacing with Software Developers and Project Managers
• Recognized higher education qualification in a relevant area of study is beneficial
